Congratulations to the United States Senate for passing a bill to cover In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) for military Veterans.

Senate Veterans Affair Committee Chairwoman Patty Murray (D-Wash.) introduced the Women Veterans and Other Health Care Improvement Act of 2012, S. 3313.  Murray’s bill builds upon an existing law to improve VA services for women veterans and veterans with families “and ends the ban on in vitro fertilization (IVF) services at VA” to help severely wounded veterans start families. These benefits will also include Surrogacy.  You can find Senator Murray’s floor remarks to the Senate on YouTube and her website.

After passing the Senate by unanimous consent, the bill now moves to the House of Representatives where Rep. Rick Larsen (D-Wash.) has introduced a companion version of the bill (H.R.6527).  You have an opportunity to help those who enlist to serve our country and protect us.
