Men, let me tell you, you are in excellent hands.
There is an increasing sense of urgency when it comes to men’s reproductive and sexual health. Within this past year alone, the research released related to male infertility is promising. There is an increased opportunity to serve men of reproductive age.
Recently the CDC requested public comment on their Action Plan for Infertility. 30% of comments were made by Urology groups such as The American Urological Association and Society for the Study of Male Reproduction as well as top Urologists such as Dr. Paul Turek, Dr. Stanton Honig, Dr. and Dr. Natan Bar-Chama. These professionals shared information with the CDC and demonstrated a need for increased awareness and focus on men’s health.
The experts cannot change policy on their own. The voice of the male Infertility patient must be heard. Men who advocate for themselves and their family are strongly considered. From our experience, the men we work with who approach their legislators, employers, and write their insurance companies are given great respect and credit for using their voice. Why? There is an acknowledgment that it takes great courage to speak openly about Infertility. A man demonstrating this bravery is respected and perceived to be thoughtful, not purely emotional, and therefore extremely effective.
We encourage you to keep the momentum going. Talk about Infertility; yours, your friends, your family, etc. Ask questions. Share resources. Have empathy for those struggling. Overall, use your voice!!! You can make all the difference.
